Melissa (she/her) is a registered psychologist and counselling psychology registrar who is passionate about supporting people in their journeys of healing, self-understanding and growth.
She believes that a foundation of safety and trust are key to therapy, and recognises the decision to seek support is itself a courageous step. Melissa is known for her warm and collaborative presence. She works gently but actively, helping clients feel heard and supported while encouraging meaningful change. Melissa believes that every person has an innate capacity for resilience and growth, and sees therapy as a space where people can reconnect with their strengths and values. Melissa’s approach is grounded in empathy and compassion, offering a non-judgemental environment where individuals can explore the full spectrum of human experiences and emotions.
Melissa is particularly passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQIAP+ community. Melissa works with adults aged 18 years and older experiencing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, panic, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, complex trauma, and PTSD.
Her practice is trauma-informed and neuroaffirming, drawing on a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy.
